My fourth book traces the experiences of a group of guys who all worked for the same company, and decided to go on a fishing trip. They repeated that experience every year for the next forty years. Jobs changed, personal relationships changed, health changed, death visited, but one thing remained untouchable: A week in the Ponderosa cottage, at Muskego Point Resort, on Vermilion Lake, outside Cook Minnesota. Over the years, wives learned they all liked each other and couples got together frequently between fishing trips. When age made standing up in a fishing boat an adventure, the friends confined social encounters to dry land.
This book pairs well with Tales that Wag the Dog, in that both consist of short stories that make good bedtime reading. They are satisfying to enjoy at an individual sitting and, can be picked up again later for enjoyment without having to remember who the characters are, and what they were doing at your previous reading.
